For the second birdsacrosswater ep of this never ending pandemic I completely switched gears from the dusty, sunbaked, sample infused 'dirty omen' of last and picked up a guitar, played bass, synth, drum machines etc. and enlisted the help of a few good friends to create something drastically different. Very much influenced by the bands and musicians near and dear to my heart, I set out to record an epic indie rock album that 23 year old me would have been into. Recorded from worlds apart using the power of the internet, I was aided by my friends David Gallant-Jenkins (trumpet, a poem and emotional support), Nathan Gara (drums) and Carmello Meriano (guitars, words/vocals). The album wouldn't have sounded as good or been as fun to make without them. This project was a happy distraction that kept me relatively sane while the rest of the world fell apart.
